Hand washing is not the only thing on the rise these days. With coronavirus continuing to spread and fear spreading even faster, consumers are shifting into shopping mode looking to stock up on groceries, household and medical supplies. And this shift in behavior is apparent at shelf.
Walking the aisles at Target, Costco and many others you will find a lot of empty shelves when it comes to things like hand sanitizers, masks and other basic supplies. Go online and it’s even worse with price gougers taking advantage of the hand sanitizer shortage, listing some for as high as $350.
With Amazon having trouble wrangling price gougers and retailers are having trouble keeping stock, shoppers are looking for any kind of support.
This is the time for brands to be the good guys. To offer helpful advice and support. While media is offering DIY solutions to make hand sanitizer, airliners are waiving change fees. What other industries or brands have you seen help shoppers seeking support in the midst of the coronavirus?
