Shop Video

Social commerce and shoppable inspiration are quickly gaining momentum and speed. Google has unveiled Shoploop, a video shopping platform for finding, reviewing, and purchasing products from short entertaining videos. Videos are 90 seconds or less and currently focus on beauty merchants, allowing customers to get information from real and relatable people combined with a simple purchasing experience.

The announcement comes hot off the heels of last week’s “Pivoting Physical Retail to Digital” post, announcing Verishop’s new social media shopping app. In similar news, Instagram Shop has also announced the launch of Facebook Pay at checkout, bolstering its own commerce capabilities.

Any product or brand that considers inspiration important needs to immediately evaluate the shoppability of their social experiences. Shoppable online experiences and inspiration are going to continue to improve as adoption increases and customer expectations rise. For this reason, brands should try and move now or risk playing catch up in the future.
