Shoppers are beginning to venture back into the stores, albeit with very different mindsets. The explosion of online shopping resources/apps now allow purpose-driven shoppers to start with products and brands first, not necessarily retailers. This means that retail locations will have a harder time up-selling, cross-selling and impulse-selling to savvy shoppers. The retail landscape has altered… with most of the middle ground gone.
